Ann Curry
Ann Curry, an American photojournalist and journalist who has covered the natural and military disasters of nearly 45 years. Her focus is on the suffering of those in these areas. Curry covered the conflicts in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry, (born November 19 1956 Agana American journalist and TV anchor and news reporter who is most famous for her role as a correspondent for the Today show a morning news program that was broadcast on the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry was renowned for her reporting on natural catastrophes and war devastated countries. Curry's father was a naval officer in the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. Curry's parents were married in Japan, the country where her father was stationed after World War II. As a result of the military service of her father, her family has moved several times. Curry was able to complete her high school education at Ashland Oregon. Her graduation with a journalist degree in 1978 from the University of Oregon in 1978. When she was a young woman she was exposed various kinds of cultures. The compassion she displays towards global affairs may be the result of these experiences. Curry was not able to attend one school in San Diego, Alameda Oregon or Virginia over the course of two years, due to her family was constantly moving. In the end, she was able to graduate from Ashland High School. While working as an intern for KTVL Channel 10 Medford, Oregan, she began her journey in broadcasting. She became the first woman journalist at the station, when she was just 22. Then she was promoted to anchoring and reporting for KGW, an NBC-affiliated station located in Portland. After four years, she was hired as an anchor by KCBS TV located in Los Angeles. In her time with the station she received the award of two Emmy Awards.
